   For cheap and tasty eats on circuit you could do a lot worse than the Indian YMCA on the SE corner of Fitzroy square. You don’t have to be young, male, Christian or an Indian for that matter to enjoy a simple bowl of dahl and a chapati for £1.50. Having said that I invariably spend more, possessing notoriously big eyes in relation to belly. Every table comes equipped with a large jug of tap water, the true mark of a civilised society.Arrive at 10 to 12 and spend a few quiet moments under the watchful gaze of Mohandas K Gandhi, reading your 50p Granuid from Chigraths newsagent in Newman street.The waiting staff wear white lab coats and pill box hats, I say waiting, they actually clear the tables and the Bulgarian handyman has pockets on the outside of his overalls.For free and tasty eats on circuit you could do a lot worse than the Hare Krishna monk on a bike dishing out generous portions of rice, dahl, subji & cake at the SOAS Russell square campus from about 1pm onwards, donations gratefully excepted.

   Yep, I've seen “Zeitgeist” too, and buy into most of it, although I think it's a bit oversimplified, and I disagree with your assumption that faith/social conservatism is on the way out. Reason I do is that, ever since Sargon, many seeking power have successfully used religion as a primary tool to control the masses, and there is none better. “Make them believe absurdities,” and just stand back and watch what they do on their own, tweaking just a little here-and-there 'till it's exactly what you want. Best part is that if there isn't a convenient religion, you can just make one up (See: Hitler, Marx, etc..), doesn't matter, as long as you can get them to swallow the dogma, tie belief to a healthy dose of nationalism, and there is absolutely nothing you can't get them to do.

   The “white lab coats” just don't have the power, furthermore, I don't think they even understand power, not in the sense that the right does, especially not at this point in time. The right has half the country believing in the virtues of anti-intellectualism, and if the economy continues as it is, and especially if the health care initiative fails, I think the right will (regretfully) have a big off-year election bonanza, and we will witness a resurgence of the right-wing social order.

   Hopefully, I will be living in Mexico by then.

   So they didn’t use ‘bonafide’ illegals for their commercial? That’s your beef? What does a REAL illegal look like? You better turn off your TV and never watch it again. News flash,… Obama’s actors in the white lab coats weren’t real doctors either. But they had all stayed at a Holiday Inn Express the night before.

   OK, so shall we ban the sale of CDR/W and BLURAY drives too? Casio green power projectors? A ban would likely start with a ban on importation, then on sale. I doubt there would be any amnesty or anything of the kind. So we still have idiots with lasers and all of a sudden there is a uh grey market where the prices go up, people generally want something more when they are told they can’t have it so a bunch of people get a bit richer and some happy punters get hold of some black market laser pointery…..
