I worked for English Channel for a year – a couple of years ago – I had to wear a blue lab coat – as I was told I was playing the role of a nurse – whereas the Korean teachers wore white lab coats as they were playing the role of the Doctor – and the learner was the patient. When I was first told about the lab coats I thought they were pulling my leg, but I soon learned that the lab coats were not a joke and had to be worn at all times – I soon got over my initial embarrasment at having to wear the coats – We were told that on a certain public holiday English Channel would be marching as part of the parade through central Seoul – and we were paid 50,000 won if we wore our lab coats – no lab coat no money – I guess its a success for English Channel as they are continuing to expand – I actually think its the locations of their schools that is the key to their success. But who knows??!!

Well, that's very interesting. Thanks for calling that to people's attention, Plazoid. “…neurotoxins and cocaine in mice…” — Such sadistic lab experiments would be horrifying, hellish and painful experiences for those helpless mice.In recent years it has been recognized that people who torture and abuse animals are more likely to do horrible things to human beings too. It used to be that nobody took that seriously. Now they do. So why should we turn a blind eye to the cruel experiments which are routinely conducted by academic sadists in lab coats? There is something truly sick and evil about university lab technicians and researchers who torture helpless animals.

    No I do not.

Just to inject a tadge of humour here, is it not strange that "Hi-viz" or bright "day-glo" jackets which were first introduced to assist workers in hazardous occupations to be seen, have, since the police have taken to wearing them, become a symbol of authority?
i.e. see one and immediatly think it belongs to someone in authority over you?

What is the term for a soldier dressed in camouflage uniform (Displacement Pattern Material) who then dons "hi-viz" clothes to make himself stand out?
