Ive had 5 labs. all stubburn, hard headed dogs. 2 girls and a boy.
I strongly recommend an Chow Chow. I have one, and he is the nicest thing ever!!
Chow Chow, or Chow, is a breed of dog that was first developed in Mongolia about 4,000 years ago and was later introduced into China,[1] where it is referred to as Songshi Quan (Pinyin: sōngshī quǎn 鬆獅犬), which literally means "puffy-lion dog."
The distinctive Chow features:
The breed has a very dense double coat that is either smooth or rough. The fur is particularly thick around the neck, giving the distinctive ruff or mane appearance. The coat may be one of five colors including red, black, blue, cinnamon/fawn, and cream.
Their eyes should be deep set and almond in shape. Chows are distinguished by their unusual blue-black/purple tongue and very straight hind legs, resulting in a rather stilted gait. The bluish color extends to the Chow's lips, which is the only dog breed with this distinctive bluish appearance in its lips and oral cavity (other dogs have black or a piebald pattern skin in their mouths). One other distinctive feature is their curly tail. It has thick hair and lays curled on its back. Their nose should be black (except the blue which can have a solid blue or slate colored nose). Any other tone is disqualification for showing in the United States under AKC breed standard. However, FCI countries do allow for a self-colored nose in the cream.
The blue-black/purple tongue gene appears to be dominant, as almost all mixed breed dogs who come from a Chow retain the tongue color. This is not to say, however, that every mixed breed dog with spots of purple on the tongue is descended from chows as purple spots on the tongue can be found on a multitude of pure breed dogs.
The Chow is thought to be one of the oldest recognizable dog breeds, and recent DNA analysis confirms that it is one of the oldest breeds of dog. Research indicates it is one of the first primitive breeds to evolve from the wolf, and is thought to have originated in the arid steppes of northern China/Mongolia. A Chinese bas-relief from 150 BC shows a hunting dog similar in appearance to the Chow. Later, Chow Chows were bred as general-purpose working dogs for herding, hunting, pulling and guarding.
In the United States, the Chow Chow was a highly popular pet among the rich and famous during the Roaring Twenties. President Calvin Coolidge and his wife owned a black Chow named Timmy. Chow Chows were also popular in the 1930s and 1980s.

How much should i sell my pit/lab puppy?
I have a pitbull/lab puppy that my neigbor gave to me. I shouldnt have accepted but Im a sucker for puppies. He is soooo cute 2months old.. blonde coat w/ matching eyes. I wanted to keep him but Im afraid of the "pit" part.. i have a 5yr old daughter, plus I have 2 other puppies (a chiweenie=chihuhua/weeniedog + a st. bernard mix) and my chiwennie is so afraid of him. I could use the extra money, so i just wanted to know how much should i sell him for? He doesnt have any papers or anything like that. He's too precious. Also I want to sell to someone that will not fight him, thats another reason I want to sell him instead of giving him away for free. Im going to give half the $ to my neigbor. How much do you think is a fair price?
Dont sell him, the pit part of him will not make him any worse/agressive than the lab part. it sounds like you love him, which i interpret as him being a good dog. if you havnt had problems yet, i wouldnt worry about it. the fact that he dose fine with your child means he is probably very gentle. so your little dog is scared of him, so what. he will get over it, and you didnt mention the puppy has had a problem with the littler dog, so even better.
JUST BECAUSE HE IS A MUTT does not mean he doesnt have value: people put too much monetary value on dogs, when we buy/adopt them to love and be loved, THINK ON THAT, he has value (sentimental, love, bond, ect).
dont listen to what people say about pit bulls/pit mixes, they tend to be great dogs. the problem is, everytime a dog bites someone, they say pit (pits are the most commonly mis-identified dog) go with your heart, love your dog, socialize them both and they will be fine.
