What kind of coat is this?
I'd like to dress as Dr. Henry Killinger from the Venture Brothers for a convention soon, but I don't know what to call the doctor's coat he wears. It's like a lab coat, but one side folds completely over the other & fastens on the opposite shoulder and there are 2 rows of buttons on either side of the chest.
Any idea what to call that kind of garment?
Megan, that looks perfect for what I need for the costume, but the prices I've seen so far for them are ridiculous, so I'll just get a regular lab coat & alter it a bit.

Hello,
I have an old black and white photo (8×10) that I believe is taken inside of the prescription department of Scharringhausen's pharmacy. It shows two men in lab coats and I can just make out the Scharringhausen name on their lab coats. I believe that the photo is from the 1930s to 1940s, although there is an old candlestick type telephone in the background. Anyone interested, please email I am selling off my collection of pharmacy items and am not a member of the family. I was going to load the photo on eBay, but thought I'd let you know first. –Tracy
Did he say scratch and sniff monitors? Actually that might be pretty awesome, especially if and when black folks in lab coats file the patent on that. This little movie is compelling to say the least. That last scene had some “From Here to Eternity” homage going on, but with Africans. Y'all got crazy coastal features in California. Overall very cool.
