   What a wonderful blog! You are one of my favourite people Helene and I can't wait to see you again sometime! While I was working in Serbia and Bosnia this past year, I learned the same…after war and losing everything, still both men and women try to look nice. Women who are doctors, the heads of medical institutions, with their hair, makeup and nails done, a dress and high heels under their white doctors' coats. It feels great to look nice, to have people turn and look and smile at you when you walk by…and still know that you are professional and competent. I agree – it isn't one or the other. This is one of the many wonderful things about being a woman, I agree!!

   Their sleeves go to the wrist and not the elbow. That is no big deal. Almost all doctors in the US male and female wear doctors coats, suits, scrubs or dress shirts that go to the wrist. Everyone from Harvard to Mayo to UCSF. If you really want to get me worked up, show me a peer-reviewed journal showing a major difference between handwashing up to wrist vs up to elbow. Plus, at least in the US, patients with MRSA and C. diff all have warnings outside their rooms with a cart full of disposable gloves and gowns. Everyone who does go in gowns up and double gloves. This is a garbage article to incite xenophobia against Muslims. Period.

   Great article! Gets one thinking! The white of doctors' coats is a sign of purity that one can trust. Imagine, your doctor would enter the little cubicle where you sit more or less naked, and she is wearing – red!

   that bothers me too, do those people want everyone else to know that they are employed?you don't see nurses and doctors with their coats after 5pm so why keep the name tag??nway have a good weekend.

   I am a Conservative and i find myself watching your show more and more because you are calling this oil spill disaster fairly. I don’t think that the hundreds of workers on the beach (when there are normally about twenty) that were there when Obama was speaking were solely the responsibility of BP and to fool the president. Rather I believe they were put there as a backdrop to make us believe more was being done by the White House. Obama said he was in control from the start so he must have known the people would be there. This reminds me of the people handing out white doctors coats to portray doctors during the Health Care proceedings. I don’t blame Obama for the spill but I do blame him for the lack of response following it. birds, fish, wildlife are being destroyed and a food source and people’s livelihoods are being ruined at a time we can ill afford to loose anymore jobs. Give the unemployed jobs cleaning the beaches. When you see Democrats and Liberals like Donna Brazille and James Carville upset who have supported the president you know something is wrong.
