Can i use a brown sugar olive oil scrub on my face?
I heard that making a scrub composed of brown sugar and olive oil makes your skin glow and feel soft. I have moderate acne, and know that exfoliation is key for clear skin. Will using a scrub made of olive oil and brown sugar worsen my acne, or improve it? Will the scrub be too harsh for my skin?
P.S. what's a good facial scrub for oily skin?
I used to have really bad oily skin and have tried a lot of stuff from home remedies to proactiv. You just have to find something that works for you. Balancing your skin's pH might help. Try using a loose paste of Baking Soda and water or whatever you wash your face with now. Don't do it every day but try it.
Olive oil is not good for acne prone skin as someone else has said. I don't know about brown sugar but I use regular sugar mixed in with soap to exfoliate and it works pretty well you just have to make sure you rinse it all off. Its nothing as funny to see someone walk around with white stuff that looks like cocaine all over their face.
I used to use Clean and Clear advantage system, around 15-20 bucks depends on where you go, or Acne Free severe system, same price, and it helped. But times are hard. Now I just wash with whatever soap is on hand. Occasionally exfoliate with baking soda or white sugar sometimes a mixture of both. Then I use a cotton ball or paper towel with witch hazel. Put on some Nivea sensitive moisturizer and I'm done. (there are a few more steps when I shave but thats it)
You should
Wash your face 2x a day
Only exfoliate 2 or 3 times a week some people say 1x a week.
Use a good astringent to clean,tone, and balance the pH of the skin. I use Witch Hazel. *Stay away from anything that has alcohol in it, that drys your skin out way to much and eventually increases oil production.*
Then follow up with a good moisturizer. Internal Oils are not good moisturizers.
And make sure you look for stuff that caters to oily skin or even sensitive skin.

what causes brown algae to grow in a fresh water aquarium?
I maintain my aquarium very well I do a 25% water change every week I also use a gravel vac to take the water out of the tank and to also clean the gravel. I have tried a couple of different types of algae removers but they don't seem to work. I have better results if I just scrub the glass. What can I do to remove the algae?.
I also clean the filter every month (its a canister filter).
what if I add sea salt to the water?
