Blue scrubs
why do A&E staff wear blue scrubs different from the rest of the hospital staff?
Working in A&E you are more likely to splashed and stained with bodily fluids than anywhere else in the hospital due to the nature of the work. Scrubs are washed and supplied in the hospital so there is always a large supply to get changed into rather than having to take several uniforms to work with you which are washed at home. Most people wouldnt want to put uniforms covered in blood in their own washing machine.

Scrubs Stacy Blue
What's the best way to remove permanent marker from royal blue scrubs? I've already tried totally awesome.?
You can remove the ink with WD-40....a product available at your local hardware store.
WD-40 is a household product used to lubricate doors and joints that creak but it also removes ink.
Spray the area with a thick layer of WD-40. Allow to sit for about a half an hour. Launder as usual. You might have to repeat the procedure a few times to get all the ink out. Do not machine dry the scrubs until all ink is gone. Machine drying sets stains.
If the WD-40 leaves a oil mark behind...pretreat that with regular dish washing liquid (Dawn, Palmolive, Ajax). Allow to sit for about a half an hour. Then launder again

I have to agree with Michelle, that in a pediatric unit, cartoon scrubs are a great way to earn a child’s trust! I did my preceptorship on a pediatric unit (I’m a new graduate) and loved the way cartoon scrubs easily started up a conversation and interaction with a child. Unfortunately, the hospital where I did my preceptorship also began implementing royal blue scrubs for RN’s, just like Rose mentioned, and if I had been an employee I would have been very sad. I’m sure it makes it easier to choose what to wear, but I love wearing fun scrubs. Luckily, I was a student and didn’t have to conform with that regulation (:
