   I forewarded this piece to the local newspaper editor who will most likely not even read it. He is an AP MIC cheerleader who tightly follows the company line.

   Interestingly I recently visited Niagara Falls Ontario and on my return to USA my vehicle was thourghly searched by a young man in a black uniform with a 9mm Glock strapped to his side. He was crude, rude, and very condescending. Just like his boss uber-furher Chertoff. Among the 10 or 15 questions I was asked were why I had a camera and why I drove so far, 300 miles round trip. This young tough guy wanna-be had probably never walked the 100 yards or so toward Canada to catch a view of the Falls, a natural Wonder of the World vistied by people from all over the world. Being a veteran and a faithful admirer of the Constitution of the United States of America, I wondered on my drive home what the millions who have died defending the Constitution of the United States of America would think of what has become of their nation and of the world they all gave their lives to defend and make a better place for EVERYONE? PEACE

   I'm a junior, and i express myself!

   1) I think you should wear the skirt to school! Dare to be different. You have your own unique style, show it off!

   2)Well my school's the same as yours with the length of skirts, but when my friends and I wore our skirts we didn't get in trouble and we didn't wear any tights or leggings, and it was a tad above the knee. (it was also noticeable). For you not to get in trouble you should wear the tights under it. to be on the safe side.

   3)we have to wear polo shirts too, but I get mine from Aeropostale, and their cute and fitted! they have almost every color you could think of! also affordable! The polo shirt would look good with the skirt, mine looked fine. I guess it depends on your skirt; but like i said dare to be different, if it looks bad to you others may say it looks good!

   4)With me, kind of don't like wearing jackets n stuff. but a cardigan is an exception, I think it would be cute!

   The Red Raiders uniform combination for today's game will be BLACK helmets, WHITE jerseys and BLACK pants!

   Daer friends, I have placed these pictures to showcase the Gorkha dress since 1815.

   pre-1815: The Gorkhas wore jootis, turban and the khukri was placed in front. They also carried a shield strapped on the back. Amongst the weapons they used, the khukri was primary, accompanied by long swords and also muskets. There were archers, shooters, sword fighters. The cannons they used were quite inferior to the ones the British had, who at the time were the best military force in the world having just defeated Napolean Bonaparte. It was a battle unequal in technology but not in valour and spirit.

   1816: The Gorkha soldier is now wearing trousers and shirt, but is still in his jootis, turban has got flattened and black was the uniform code and the khukri is still fastened in front.

   1857: They are in shoes now and turban is gone. Some are sporting the khukri in front and some to the side.

   1868: This is an important turning point. The Gorkhas wore a red tunic and hence were called the 'Lal Kurti' platoon or palatan. Later when they had to change form red to green they were loathe to do so as the 'lal Kurti' had become their identity.
   The khukri is now officially extended to further left yet accesible with the right hand. They were riflemen now. The khukri was used for hand to hand combat. The Gorkha is now sporting a version of the Kilmarnock cap with chin straps with the insignia of the 1st GR on his cap (Two crossed khukris with the blade facing downward. The 4th Gorkhas insignia has the blade of khukris facing upwards. Various combos of the khukri- crossing identify different Gorkha regts).

   Gorkhas come for recruitment: This picture is from early 1900s. The native dress is indicative of the Gorkhas mountain homes. Hardly anybody joined from Kathmandu. The fighter stock always came from higher reach areas. Apart from the folded patuka or soft cloth dhoti, the origins were identified by the different kinds of caps, criss-cross capes, waistcoats and by and large barefeet. The bulging calf muscles were also indicative of how strong his legs were from living in mountain terrains. And feet which could climb and walk tirelessly for miles. Also for their kind of height, fairly long arms and very strong neck muscles.

   The last picture is of the sad state of the Fort of malaun. It is high time the fort was restored and given its important place in history as where the legend began.

   I say go for it! The worst that can happen is that you get in trouble for it being a little too short? If I were you I would wear a knee-length one but roll it up so it's a little shorter than knee length, whatever length you're comfortable with. That way if they yell at you, you can just roll the skirt down and it will be fine. Hope this helps (:
